bridget jones diary by helen fielding
who knew it would be bridget jones that would get me out of my reading slump. at the beginning of november i got a cold that lasted a week. after 2 solid days of laying on the couch watching tv & old movies & blowing my nose, i had to find something else to do. so i was forced to pick up a book. i'm not quick to rave about chick lit, but this book came at just the right time & actually make me laugh out loud. alot. oh, mark darcy.

not your average "i-bought-a-house-in-europe -&-fixed-it-up" travel writing (no offence, frances mayes) this book is actually a good story about learning to blend cultures. it does have some fun paris stuff, but its mostly about all the great & crazy & bittersweet things that go along with living in a new place. i love that.
