i like the airport.
there are few places i would rather be than at the airport or on an airplane, because it means i am going somewhere. i like the luggage & the shops with lots of magazines & the sense of anticipation & the departure and arrival boards & the flight attendants with the rolling suitcases & the sound of the golf-cart-y things buzzing around & the overhead announcements that you can't park here -- violaters will be towed. i like that you can't say "hi jack" without getting in trouble cause i think thats funny. i even like the crappy stuff like long lines & delayed flights & layovers & airplane air & those tiny pillows & having to take your shoes off & walk in your socks through security... just because all of that is a part of going somewhere. & the best people watching in the world is at the airport.
the airport has food to eat, bookstores to buy books in, people to watch, & airplanes to fly off into the sunset on. what more could you want?

you found a youtube of your favourite opening of a movie! i can't even handle how much i love hugh and the clever double use of "love actually".
i decided the next time i want to write a short story on significant characters i am going to the airport. the human emotion is abounding. i like places like that too...
I love the airport too. I think it is something all us Cape people have in common. We all love travel.

i came back to watch the video again. i just cant get enough.
It's interesting how we all like/love the same things. Coincidence? I think not!
airports!! our relationship (the airport's and mine, that is) has had its ups and downs. Last few years, we've been enamored with each other.
I love taking my shoes off for security. Makes me feel like the whole airport is my living room. Just as it should be.
very smile-inducing post, Christy. thanks. :-)
